Double Fine Studios, the creators of critically acclaimed Psychonauts 2 will be sticking with the Unreal Engine for their upcoming indie games. As seen here in this job posting they are clearly moving onto UE5 after using UE4 to create Psychonauts 2.
After seeing how beautiful that game was, I can’t wait to see what this studio cooks up next.
Update 3.2 for Battlefield 2042 goes live today. The update includes going back to the class system where you can choose Assault, Engineer, Recon and Support classes. The update has a rework of the Breakaway Map, new Vault Weapons, and much more and is of course available on Game pass.
MLB the show has been confirmed as coming to Game pass for the 3rd year in a row saving you another $70 bucks. I’d say it's safe to assume this will continue for years to come. The release date will be March 28th so not long to wait for that one.
We have a journalist that likes to play stupid games and win stupid prizes. Naturally the twitter verse did not appreciate this little ditty from Metro.co.uk for their review of the Game Hi-Fi Rush. And I quote
“The wasteland that has been the Xbox release schedules for the last few years limits the accolades we can give the game but it’s a breath of fresh air for Xbox gamers, developer Tango Gameworks, and the rhythm action genre as a whole.” End quote
Did they just punish a games score based off of Xbox’s lack of 1st party titles. And you people wonder why we call out journalists for being bias and full of shit. Moving on
Let’s get into the games coming soon to Game Pass
Roboquest dropped YESTERDAY onto game pass and the Game looks cool. It's been well received by steam users.
OUT now on console and cloud, a game that’s been on PC game pass for a while is Age of Empires 2 Definitive Edition. According to those that have had their hands on the game the controls work surprisingly well on console. I was worried how this PC only game would translate so I’m excited to try it out.
Next we have Inkulinati coming to console, pc and cloud today. An ink-based strategy game straight from medieval manuscripts, where a rabbit’s bum can be deadlier than a dog’s sword. Take your turn in duels filled with unexpected tactical depth and humor. Embark on an ever-changing journey, build your own bestiary, defeat medieval superstars and collect perks to unleash special powers.
JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure All-Star Battle R. Frickin mouth full that one… is on Cloud, Console, and PC today. I can’t lie, go watch this trailer, it’s completely mental in the best way possible. Battle with 50 colorful characters from the world of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure. See how characters who could never meet in the story interact when they come face to face! Even newcomers to the fighting game genre can have fun with one-button combos and ultimate moves.
Coming Feb 2nd to console, pc and cloud is Darkest Dungeon, a roguelike RPG about the psychological stresses of adventuring. Recruit, train, and lead a team of flawed heroes through twisted forests, forgotten warrens, and ruined crypts. Not only do unimaginable foes await, but so does stress, famine, disease, and the ever-encroaching dark.
Last up we have Grid Legends coming to Cloud….yup just cloud. Don’t ask. EA play is weird sometimes. Experience edge-of-your-seat motorsport action, an immersive story mode in ‘Driven to Glory’, and stunning racing variety, as recurring EA Play events keep the wheel-to-wheel action alive.
