Act V – Story Summary
Delta Squad boards a moving freight train carrying the Lightmass Bomb, humanity’s last chance to strike a decisive blow against the Locust Horde. As the train barrels toward its destination, Marcus and Dom fight through waves of enemies to ensure the bomb stays secure.
At the end of the train, they face General RAAM, the Locust commander who has haunted them throughout the campaign. RAAM appears cloaked in his swarm of Kryll, a living shield that makes him nearly unstoppable. The battle is desperate, with Marcus and Dom throwing everything they have into stopping him. After a grueling fight, RAAM finally falls, his Kryll scattering into the night.
With the path cleared, the train continues on course. The Lightmass Bomb is successfully deployed into the Locust tunnels, detonating with devastating effect. Entire underground hives are destroyed, giving humanity a badly needed victory.
The game closes with a grim reminder: while the strike was successful, the Locust are not gone. Their war against humanity will continue. The ending sets the stage for the battles still to come, leaving the story both triumphant and ominous.
