Gears of War Reloaded – Act IV: The Long Road Home (Detailed Walkthrough Recap)
• Campus Grinder – Delta Squad pushes through the campus area swarming with Locust. You can choose between going through the buildings or taking the outside street. Both routes have heavy firefights, with snipers and Troikas pinning you down. The first COG Tag is found here if you search carefully.
• Bad to Worse – Combat ramps up as Locust pour in stronger waves. A Berserker smashes into the scene, and you need to coordinate with Jack and environmental triggers to trap and kill it. This is also where you get your first use of the Hammer of Dawn, blasting enemies to break through. A second COG Tag is hidden in this section.
• Hazing – Smaller area but relentless attacks. Locust start using Torque Bows and Boomshots more often, forcing you to play cautiously with cover. A lot of close calls with Wretches rushing in too.
• Close to Home – Narrow courtyards and tight gates make this area feel claustrophobic. Ammo management matters here since Torque Bow enemies and Troikas can drain your supplies fast.
• Imaginary Place – Marcus and the squad make it to the Fenix estate. This part mixes story and combat: you push through corridors, uncover hidden paths, and face swarms in close quarters. A third COG Tag is hidden here. The personal setting adds extra weight since it’s Marcus’s home.
• Entrenched – Final push of the act. You defend the estate while Jack hacks open gates. Enemies come in waves—Grenadiers, Boomers, and drones keep pressing hard. Just when you think you’ve cleared it, a massive Brumak appears. The squad can’t fight it head-on, so you make a desperate run to the waiting APC under a time limit, with the Brumak stomping after you. That’s how Act IV closes out.
