I finally got to spend some time this weekend with Gears Tactics, and it's very refreshing. Besides an entirely new genre of gameplay, it also includes full customization of characters and weapons. And not just in colors or patterns, but in parts and pieces that actually change statistics. It's a very welcome change to the bloated microtransaction system seen in Gears of War 4 and Gears 5.

Here's my initial impressions.
