The Geekom IT1 Mega is a mini PC based on the Intel Core Ultra 9 185H. Graphics are powered by an Intel Arc GPU. It comes equipped with 32 GB of DDR5 RAM and a 2 TB SSD. Fortunately, the IT1 Mega supports Wi-Fi 7. Bluetooth is also up-to-date with Bluetooth 5.4. The compact computer comes pre-installed with Windows 11 Pro. The Geekom IT1 Mega was introduced at IFA 2024 and is now available to the general public.

Upon unboxing the IT1 Mega, the first thing you’ll notice is how stylish the mini PC looks. This is due to the honeycomb design on the front, which is unique to this model. The vibrant color also adds to its striking appearance. Geekom moves away from the typical gray, silver, black, or white and embraces a bold color choice. Unlike other in-house models, the IT1 Mega does not feature a Geekom logo on the top. The IT1 Mega has a volume of 1.045 liters, making it very compact.

The package includes a power adapter, an HDMI cable, a VESA adapter, and the necessary screws.

Geekom installs a 2 TB PCIe NVMe Gen 4 SSD. The write speed of the SSD is 4,373.67 MB/s, while existing data is read at 4,888.81 MB/s. The 2280 PCIe x4 Gen 4 slot can accommodate SSDs up to 2 TB, meaning its maximum capacity is already reached. Additionally, there is a 2242 SATA III slot that can hold storage devices up to 1 TB. The dual-channel RAM can be upgraded to 64 GB, with a clock speed of up to 5600 MHz.

The IT1 Mega follows the trend of featuring four USB-A ports on the front. It also has a headphone jack and a power button on the front. SD cards can be inserted on the left side. The back houses several ports, including two additional USB-A ports. Monitors can be connected via two HDMI ports. Two Ethernet ports allow LAN cables to connect to a router or NAS. The IT1 Mega also features two USB-C ports. In total, up to four monitors can be connected. For 8K displays, the USB-C ports must be used. It is now possible to operate two 8K displays simultaneously—something that seemed futuristic just a few years ago. This supports 30 Hz, while HDMI outputs 4K at 60 Hz. A Kensington lock is located on the right side.

The Intel Core U9-185H features 16 cores, 22 threads, and 24 MB cache. The 7-nanometer processor runs at a base clock of 2.8 GHz, with a boost clock of up to 5.1 GHz. The chipset also includes an NPU. The Intel AI Boost runs at 1.4 GHz. Unlike the Megamini G1, the IT1 Mega only includes an Intel Arc GPU with 8 Xe cores, running at up to 2.25 GHz. In the "Steel Nomad Light" benchmark, the IT1 Mega scores 3,184 points. While this does not achieve a fully green rating, it is still rated as excellent. The 3,184 points are above average, as similar systems typically score around 2,958 points.

On its product page, Geekom highlights compatibility with multiple protocols, including WindowsML, DirectML, and DirectX 12 Ultimate. External GPUs (eGPUs) can be connected via USB-C. Users familiar with the CPU, GPU, and NPU from other systems will know that this hardware combination is suitable for some games in Full HD. However, 4K gaming is not advisable. Intel XeSS ensures a smooth Full HD experience, although the PC does need to work hard for it. The cooling system used is IceBlast 2.0. According to Geekom, this widely used system has reduced fan noise by 20%.

Geekom calls the IT1 Mega an AI PC. In practice, the IT1 Mega proves to be a stable system capable of handling both small and large tasks effortlessly. The Geekom IT1 Mega is currently available on Amazon for €1,129. A 5% discount coupon can be applied on the product page. Those needing less performance can opt for the U5 version, which costs less. The budget-friendly model includes only a 1 TB SSD and has a maximum clock speed of 4.5 GHz. The U5 version is available for €839 on Amazon, with an additional €100 discount coupon on the product page.
