🔧 Geekom Megamini G1: SSD upgrade to 4 TB – step-by-step guide 🔧 (2025)
https://amzn.to/4cP0Klt Available on Amazon.
The Geekom Megamini G1 comes with a 2 TB SSD – but this is often too small for gamers and power users. In this video, I'll show you how to replace the main SSD with a fast 4 TB SSD (e.g., Samsung 990 Pro) and perform a clean reinstall of Windows 11 Pro.
⚠ ️ Important: The G1 only supports single-sided SSDs – many 4 TB models (e.g., WD SN850X) are unfortunately double-sided and therefore unsuitable.
🧰 What you need:
USB flash drive (at least 8 GB)
New SSD (e.g., Samsung 990 Pro, single-sided)
Phillips screwdriver
A little patience 😄
📥 You can find the Windows 11 ISO here:https://service.geekompc.com/megamini-g1/.
🕒 Time:
– Download Windows ISO: approx. 25 minutes
– Installation & setup: approx. 30–45 minutes
💡 Performance gain:
The new SSD delivers top performance:
Read: 7091 MB/s 📈
Write: 6840 MB/s ⚡
📄 Quick guide (how-to):
Load & unpack the Windows ISO
Copy files to a USB flash drive
Remove rubber feet & screws
Replace the SSD (single-sided!)
Case close
Insert USB stick & start G1
Install Windows & you're done!
