๐ง Geekom Megamini G1: SSD upgrade to 4 TB โ step-by-step guide ๐ง (2025)
https://amzn.to/4cP0Klt Available on Amazon.
The Geekom Megamini G1 comes with a 2 TB SSD โ but this is often too small for gamers and power users. In this video, I'll show you how to replace the main SSD with a fast 4 TB SSD (e.g., Samsung 990 Pro) and perform a clean reinstall of Windows 11 Pro.
โ ๏ธ Important: The G1 only supports single-sided SSDs โ many 4 TB models (e.g., WD SN850X) are unfortunately double-sided and therefore unsuitable.
๐งฐ What you need:
USB flash drive (at least 8 GB)
New SSD (e.g., Samsung 990 Pro, single-sided)
Phillips screwdriver
A little patience ๐
๐ฅ You can find the Windows 11 ISO here:https://service.geekompc.com/megamini-g1/.
๐ Time:
โ Download Windows ISO: approx. 25 minutes
โ Installation & setup: approx. 30โ45 minutes
๐ก Performance gain:
The new SSD delivers top performance:
Read: 7091 MB/s ๐
Write: 6840 MB/s โก
๐ Quick guide (how-to):
Load & unpack the Windows ISO
Copy files to a USB flash drive
Remove rubber feet & screws
Replace the SSD (single-sided!)
Case close
Insert USB stick & start G1
Install Windows & you're done!
