Spooky scary video games send shivers down your spine! It's time to enjoy Splatterhouse 3, so sit down and unwind. New episodes of Genesis Does debut every Thursday night at 8 PM ET, 7 Central and this one was done specifically for October with the Halloween season in mind. Despite the fact that Sega tried to avoid potential controversy by giving this game the first ever MA-13 rating (suitable only for mature audiences over the age of 13) it still became the target of Congressional ire ANYWAY much like Night Trap and other games with "graphic violence" in the day. The violence seems too cartoonish and pixelated to really be that disturbing in this day and age but by 1993 standards maybe Namco and Sega really were pushing the envelope! Then again I feel like Mortal Kombat games were way more hardcore than anything in the Splatterhouse series.
