Genesis Mini Classic - USB-HOST! Custom OSTs! Xtreme Virtual Ram!
Even during drama, some good things happened:)
Way way back, we had this very irritating issue where N64 Games would ALWAYS crash! We theorized about a solution to the problem, and determined it was due to a memory leak, in conjunction with not having enough ram usage to begin with! So, madmonkey and myself opted for the kernel implementation of Zram Crash Inhibitor, and MMC went for the Swap File Method on USB/SD. I give personal thanks to all involved, as this goes a long way as far as fixing up a multitude of things, including Doom Sigil (Shreds .wad), Atomiswave/Naomi Games, N64, Dreamcast, MAME Samples, such as sfii, etc! This is a 512 MB implementation of Xtreme Virtual Ram, so you can actually play some of these on MD/NES/SNES, which previously were not possible to play. So, in effect, Zram Crash Inhibitor, Xtreme Virtual Ram, Xtreme Overclock, RetroArch Xtreme, MAME 2003 Xtreme, and some fun Xtreme Custom OSTs FTW, including Street Fighter II Arcade, which is absolutely impossible to play without Xtreme Virtual Ram!
Enjoy!
Thanks madmonkey, Swingflip, Xorloser. And, thanks bslenul and CaptSNES for extensive testing of the Swap File Method. This cumulative efforts on all fronts helped fix so many things for the lower spec, lower Ram Mini Classics!
It is especially awesome being able to specifically showcase examples of where these incorporations are utterly practical as can be!
PS, Killer Instinct runs hella better, too, and PSP God of War Games are actually playable now, especially with the Audio Driver Disable Exploit I showcased in my recent PS Classic Demonstrations!
The Drama may never go away. But, neither will the fun! We will keep bringing fun stuff to you, no matter the case!
