Genshin Analysis Push For Folly in the City of Scholars
All hail the Fatui :D
Transcript: You might have asked yourself, what did Dottore mean when he said in the city of scholars, there's a call for folly? I'm inclined to think this folly refers to the akasha. As you may know, this device which contains all the knowledge recorded by the ley lines. It is definitely inspired by the akashic records which are believed to contain all the information from the beginning of time according to antroposophy. It bears many similarities to internet search providers we have today. During the first chapter of the new archon quest, one can't help but notice the people have gotten complacent since the akasha was introduced, and they became content with not broading their horizons in favor of using the information handed to them on a silver platter. In other words, if the akasha won't give them an answer, most people don't bother looking for it. In the story told by Kusanali's follower, wisdom is about the journey, not the end result, and information which is readily given is lightly valued. The Fatui may be planning to exploit this complacency by burning down the tree, which is the source of all this information and plunging everyone into chaos. Think of what would happen if someone shut down the internet forever. Considering there's already tension between different factions in Sumeru, Dottore could easily pin the blame on Eremite extremists to divide and conquer. Also, fatui means fools in latin, and the push for folly that isn't getting stopped means that Kusanali isn't doing anything to protect the tree, wean the people off Akasha or stop Fatui plans in general. It remains to be seen why Dottore didn't hijack the tree and gaslight the nation instead of commiting a blatantly blasphemous
act, but it's definitely more interesting this way.
