9Christmas Rolls is the new print&play series launched by @teetotumgamestudios which includes 3 Christmas themed #rollandwrite games: Ready for Christmas, Best Snowman Wins and Tricky Christmas Gnomes.
Since I first heard the news I was super excited to get them to the table and I already envisioned including them in our Christmas menu this year. Now that I've got a chance to play them I'm absolutely sure that this will be the sweetest dish in our menu and I can't wait to play them with our family and friends 😍
So far I've only played them solo and in 2 players and it was such an adorable experience with all the thematic actions like building a snowman, baking cookies and decorating the house or helping Santa to spread joy in the village.
All 3 games are easy to play and teach, faced paced with everyone playing simultaneously for 10 rounds and about 15 minutes. All you need is the printed player sheets, pencils and 4 dice and you're ready to go.
Each of them has such a cute theme, just perfect to get you into the Christmas atmosphere and the mechanics are really nice and complement the theme. That's why the table talk as we played was so adorable 😍 from "I need to get some flour! My cookies tray is almost full!", "Yaaay! I got a broom and carrot this round! My snowman will be so cute!", "Yes! Take that sneaky gnomes! My people are too happy to even notice you!"
The other thing I loved is that each game comes with a set of challenges in case you want to play an advanced version of the game and you will also get some very cute and thematic coloring pages.
In Ready for Christmas, each round you will visit a store to get one or more supplies depending on the upgrade level of the store and then you will roll 4 dice and use them to choose from the following actions: turn on a tree light, wrap a present, make cookies, each of them corresponding for the specific area with its own scoring rule. This is also my favorite game from the series as it's more of a worker placement game and it's also my favorite theme with all the cute Christmas preparation you have going on.
Best Snowman Wins is all about building and dressing up your snowman. Each round you will roll 4 dice that you can use to gather snow and to search for accessories in the warehouse. The numbers used to gather snow must be consecutive while in the warehouse you will need to move orthogonally and satisfy different number conditions in order to get to as many accessories as possible.
Tricky Christmas Gnomes is all about helping Santa bring presents and joy to each house in the village and don't let the mean gnomes get spread sadness with their mischief. At the start of each round you will roll one die which determines the houses affected by gnomes but afterwards you'll be able to use the 4 dice of the round to get presents out of Santa's sack and make as many people happy as possible.
