6Things to take away from this, don't be intimidated by modern armies if you're playing a medieval army. Get those cheap, weak units on your front to absorb bullets, arrows or charges and you don't need to be really high level to win.
From my opponents point of view, don't underestimate a level 0, they may be smurfing essentially. Kite melee with gun units, don't waste shots against inexpensive screens, and take a good diverse army that can take a wide variety of units.
