Phasmophobia is a first-person horror investigation survival game made by Kinetic Games where players work alone or in teams of up to four to complete contracts by identifying the type of ghost haunting a location. Players can communicate using local voice chat within close proximity or globally through walkie-talkies. The game’s speech recognition system allows certain equipment, Cursed Possessions, and even the ghost itself to respond to player speech, recognizing key words and phrases. To succeed, investigators must gather evidence to correctly identify the ghost type while trying to survive, earning the bulk of their cash and XP. Completing additional objectives and taking photos can significantly boost rewards, helping players level up, unlock new maps and upgrades, and improve their gear.
