GETTING SOMETHING BLUE!! - ESCAPE FROM MONKEY ISLAND #11
24Welcome back to part 11 of my let's play series of Escape From Monkey Island, the fourth game in the Monkey Island series and the adventures of Guybrush Threepwood Might Pirate! Following the conclusion of The Curse of Monkey Island where Guybrush buried LeChuck under a mountain of ice, Guybrush and Elaine Marley got married. Upon returning from their honeymoon, they discover Elaine has been declared dead and a strange Australian has been buying up all of the property around the caribbean!
In this episode, we start back in the LUA Bar on Melee Island and order a Flaming Scuttlefish from the waitress! As it comes round on the sushi boats, we try to jam the mechanism using our chopsticks but they're too flimsy and break! We go back to the harbour and use the quarter on the grog machine and it eats our money! We beat up the grog machine and it spits out loads of cans of grog! We take one and then go to Meathook's house and take a paintbrush! Next, we go back to the LUA Bar and order the Flaming Scuttlefish again. We jam the paintbrush in the mechanism this time and the flames stop right under the painting! The chef comes out to investigate and we go into the kitchen and pour the grog into the boat steam generator which causes it to break! The flames melt Meathook's wax painting and the chef gives us what's left underneath! It's the map to the Ultimate Insult! We give it to the figurehead on The Dainty Lady and it shows us the way to our next destination; Jambalaya Island!!

Escape from Monkey Island is a computer adventure game developed and released by LucasArts in 2000. It is the fourth game in the Monkey Island series and the first one to use 3D graphics.
The game centers on the pirate Guybrush Threepwood, who returns home with his wife Elaine Marley after their honeymoon, to find her erroneously declared dead, and her office of governor up for election. Guybrush must find a way to restore Elaine to office, while uncovering a plot to turn the Caribbean into a tourist trap, headed by his nemesis LeChuck and an Australian conspirator Ozzie Mandrill.
Escape was the last of LucasArts' adventure games to be released. It was also the second and last game to use the GrimE engine, which was upgraded from its first use in Grim Fandango. The game is now available on GOG.com and Steam.
Escape from Monkey Island is an adventure game that consists of dialogue with characters and solving puzzles. The game is controlled entirely with the keyboard or alternatively with a joystick, making it the only non-point-and-click game in the Monkey Island series.
A feature of the game are action-lines: Guybrush will glance at any items that can be interacted with; the player can use 'Page Up' or 'Page Down' to select the item that he wants Guybrush to look at.
One of the hallmark aspects of the Monkey Island games, the insult swordfighting — the sword duels which were won by knowing the appropriate insults and responses — is briefly touched upon in the game as "insult armwrestling", and in an unwinnable insult duel against Ozzie Mandrill. In the second part of the game, the insult games are replaced by "Monkey Kombat", the name being a parody of Mortal Kombat with a symbol to match. Monkey Kombat is a sub-game akin to rock-paper-scissors, where the player needs to memorize lines of "monkey insults and retorts" which consist of per-game randomized compositions of "monkey words" like "oop", "chee", "ack" and "eek".
The game begins with Guybrush Threepwood and Elaine Marley returning to Mêlée Island from their honeymoon, which they embarked on in the epilogue of The Curse of Monkey Island. Here they find that Elaine has been declared officially dead, her position as governor has been revoked and her mansion is scheduled to be demolished. The governorship is up for election, and suddenly a person known as Charles L. Charles presents himself as the lead candidate. As Elaine begins her campaign to recover her position, Guybrush hires navigator Ingacius Cheese in a game of insult arm-wrestling, meets again with two of his old "friends", Carla and Otis, and heads out to Lucre Island.
