Phasmophobia is a 4 player online co-op psychological horror. Paranormal activity is on the rise and itβs up to you and your team to use all the ghost-hunting equipment at your disposal in order to gather as much evidence as you can. Use your ghost-hunting equipment to find and record evidence to sell on to a ghost removal team.
Immersive Experience: Realistic graphics and sounds as well as a minimal user interface ensure a totally immersive experience that will keep you on your toes.
Unique Ghosts: Identify over 20 different ghost types, each with unique traits, personalities, and abilities to make each investigation feel different from the last.
Equipment: Use well-known ghost-hunting equipment such as EMF Readers, Spirit Boxes, Thermometers, and Night Vision Cameras to find clues and gather as much paranormal evidence as you can. Find Cursed Possessions that grant information or abilities in exchange for your sanity.
Full Voice Recognition: The Ghosts are listening! Use your actual voice to interact with the Ghosts through Ouija Boards and EVP Sessions using a Spirit Box.
Locations: Choose from over 10 different haunted locations, each with unique twists, hiding spots, and layouts.
Game Modes: With 5 default difficulties and hand crafted weekly challenges, there are plenty of ways to test your skills.
Teamwork: Dive in head first, get your hands dirty searching for evidence while fighting for your life. If you're not feeling up to the task, play it safe and support your team from the truck by monitoring the investigation with CCTV and motion sensors.
Custom Difficulty: Create your own games to tailor the difficulty to your or your group's needs, with proportional rewards and come up with crazy game modes of your own!
Co-operate: Play alongside your friends with up to 4 players in this co-op horror where teamwork is key to your success.
Play together: Phasmophobia supports all players together, play with your friends with any combination of input types.
Players create or join a lobby where preparation for the contracts is done. Phasmophobia gives players the option to customize their appearance by picking between eight different paranormal investigators to distinguish between group members. Located at two corkboards in the lobby, a contract location is voted on between players, while the difficulty is set by the host. All equipment is purchased and upgraded at a computer in the lobby and selected to be loaded into a van from which the group will operate upon arriving at the site.
Starter equipment includes an aged AM/FM radio, a notebook, a D.O.T.S. pen, an aged EMF reader, an aged video camera, a glowstick, and an aged flashlight, with more of these available to buy in the store, assuming the player has enough funds to do so. Additional equipment types or upgrades can be unlocked depending on player level and subsequently purchased. Certain types of equipment like Firelights, Igniters, Incense, and Crucifixes may be needed to complete the optional objectives and protect players. Zero to seven Cursed Possessions (depending on the Custom Settings and difficulty) will spawn per map and allow the player to interact with the ghost directly, though at the risk of provoking it into a hunt or dying: The Haunted Mirror, Summoning Circle, Voodoo Doll, Music Box, Ouija Board, Monkey Paw, or deck of Tarot Cards.
Players must utilize the various pieces of equipment to identify the three pieces of evidence unique to the type of ghost they are dealing with, and often to complete optional objectives as well. There are seven possible pieces of ghost evidence: EMF level 5, fingerprints, freezing temperatures, ghost orbs, ghostwriting, seeing movement on the D.O.T.S. projector, and hearing the ghost speak through the spirit box.
Phasmophobia has 24 different ghost types. Most of these ghost types are based on creatures and entities from various cultures and religions, such as the Banshee from Irish folklore, the Yokai, and Yurei from Japanese folklore, and the Jinn from Islamic folklore. Each ghost type has different abilities it can use, as well as times it can hunt.
