Ghost of Tsushima: Director's Cut PS5 4K 60FPS - Part 26 - The Tale of Lord Shimura (Ending+Review)
"Game of the PS4 Generation"
Every once in a while, you get to a play a game that hits all the right boxes and really takes you away into its own world. Ghost of Tsushima is that game for PS4/PS5 and it's easily my game of the generation. Let me get into the aspects of this game along with Sucker Punch Productions.
+ (Positives)
+ 60FPS
+ Instant load times
+ Graphics top-notch
+ Sound design incredible
+ Ilan Eshkeri & Shigeru Umebayashi deserve immense praise for the soundtrack
+ Dynamic combat
+ Engaging leveling systems without being overly complex
+ Sprawling open world without feeling bloated
+ Storyline that is cohesive without dragging on
+ Using the winds to guide your missions is fun to use
+ Standoffs are engaging to perform and the highlight of combat
+ PS5 touchpad adds to immersion of the game with all the little details (climbing horses, using your weapons, etc.)
+ Gorgeous color palettes throughout the game. Absolutely loved the scenery and nature of the different islands/areas.
+ Different choices in dialogue
+ Voice acting phenomenal. Daisuke Tsuji (Jin) & Sumalee Montano (Yuna) deserve all the praise for their performances.
- (Negatives)
- My only real complaint was the difficulty. Even on Medium, the game is very unforgiving, but it illustrates how the developers wanted you to play the game. You have to learn the different stances and weaponry without rushing in and pressing X like most games. However, several of the bosses throughout really gave me trouble, especially Khotun Khan, to where I had to lower the difficulty, though it could've been me not doing the extra side-quests.

Overall, Sucker Punch Productions finally did what everyone wanted from Ubisoft - and that was to create an Assassin's Creed with a Japan setting. They not only did that, but they took out all the bloat of Ubisoft, and crafted, what I would argue, is the best and most immersive game thus far on the PS4. What really interested me was the little details that added up to the bigger picture: the nature, animals running around while you're horseback riding, listening in on conversations before killing mongols. This is what sets certain games apart and where the developers really took their time to illustrate such a livable and contrasting world. Kudos to the development team.
I have nothing else to add to my review. Sucker Punch Productions along with Nate Fox and Jason Connell hit a home run with this game. Absolutely floored by the level of detail, the immersion and the open-world setting without feeling bloated (every Assassin's Creed after the Ezio Trilogy, looking at you). This game really set a high bar and everyone involved in this project deserves nothing but praise for their hard work that went into creating this gem of a game.
Ghost of Tsushima: Director's Cut - 10/10
Ghost of Tsushima: Director's Cut on PS5 - 10/10 (Haptic feedback + Instant load times is beyond incredible)
Easily the best game I've played for PS4 (on my PS5) for this generation, and I didn't even get to Iki Island! Last time I felt playing a game like this was The Last Guardian. Just an immersive experience all around.
Hope you guys liked the playthrough and enjoy! Sorry about missing 'Heart of the Jito' mission on my playlist. PS5 messed up recording on that:/
*Special Note* - I definitely will come back and finish off the DLC of Iki Island, however, there are other games I want to get to with the new PlayStation Plus Premium subscription first.
Enjoy😄
