Ghost of Tsushima- Honor Buried Deep
After liberating Azamo Bay, Jin Sakai encountered a concerned citizen named Hyoe who brought Jin to his shop to discuss his neighbor, Haruo's suspicious activities at night. Hyoe had followed Haruo to a nearby cemetery and witnessed a secret meeting between him and a group of bandits. Intrigued, Jin decided to investigate further.
Jin made his way to the cemetery and immediately noticed signs of recent activity—a charred fire pit, bloodied bandages, and a partially eaten meal. Determined to uncover the truth, Jin concealed himself in the pampas grass and patiently waited for Haruo to return.
As Haruo and the bandits arrived, Jin silently trailed behind them, observing their every move. To his surprise, he watched as they carefully buried an Inari statue. Intrigued, Jin confronted the bandits and demanded an explanation for their actions.
The bandits revealed that, fearing the Mongols' destructive tendencies, they had decided to hide their sacred artifacts to protect them from potential raids. Their actions were driven by a desire to preserve their cultural heritage. Just as the conversation unfolded, a group of additional bandits rushed to the scene, warning that the Mongols had discovered their location.
Realizing the imminent danger, Jin swiftly proposed an alliance, asking the bandits capable of fighting to join forces with him. Together, they stood against the Mongols, engaging in a fierce battle. Jin's skill and strategic prowess, combined with the bandits' assistance, resulted in a hard-fought victory.
With the Mongols defeated, Jin took the opportunity to speak with the bandits in greater detail. To his surprise, he discovered that there were also villagers hiding inside the bandits' house, seeking refuge from the Mongol threat. Recognizing the importance of protecting innocent lives, Jin urged the bandits to assist him in escorting the villagers to the safety of Azamo Bay.
Upon arriving at the gates of Azamo Bay, Jin approached the gatekeeper and vouched for the bandits, explaining that they had not only protected the villagers but also aided in defeating the Mongols. Recognizing their valor, the gatekeeper agreed to let them enter the town.
Expressing his gratitude, the bandit leader thanked Jin for allowing him and his comrades the opportunity to prove themselves as honorable men. Jin acknowledged their newfound sense of purpose and the potential for redemption, knowing that unity was crucial in the face of the Mongol invasion.
