Ghost of Tsushima PS5 Backwards Compatibility Gameplay Performance Test (Higher Resolution Mode)
This is Ghost of Tsushima running on a PlayStation 5 utilizing High Resolution Mode. Although a PlayStation 4 game, Ghost of Tsushima has PS5 support thanks to a recent patch. If played on a PlayStation 5, Ghost of Tsushima's framerate is now capped at 60fps instead of 30fps. From what I've found online, it seems the resolution is 1800p with checkerboard rendering if played in the Higher Resolution Mode, much like the PS4 Pro version. There's also a Higher Performance Mode that sets the resolution at 1080p, but since the game seems pretty stable at Higher Performance Mode, you might as well stick with that mode even with a 1080p display. Both modes offer 60fps on PlayStation 5.
It does seem like the more cinematic cutscenes are still in 30fps, but gameplay and other cutscenes run at 60fps. This video ended up being longer than I intended it to be. I pre-ordered this game on PS4, but never got around to playing it. I'm looking forward to playing it on PS5. It's such a beautiful game and I hope more PS4 exclusives receive a patch similar to Ghost of Tsushima and Days Gone.
The recording is in 1080p and 60fps. Gameplay captured from a PS5.
