The Ghost of Tsushima sequel will start a new origin story with Atsu, a young woman seeking revenge. Details on her story are few and far between, but the trailer did reveal some interesting clues about the newest warrior to take on the mask of The Ghost.
The first thing you need to know is that Ghost of Yotei is not exactly a direct sequel. It means the game will not continue the story of Ghost of Tsushima. Instead, it will introduce a new protagonist and a completely new original story.
Sucker Punch has revealed Ghost of Yotei will take place in 1603, over 300 years after the events of Ghost of Tsushima. While the original release told the story of a samurai Jin Sakai, the new game will introduce players to a new female protagonist Atsu.
The game’s story is set in areas surrounding Mount Yotei, a mountain peak in Ezo. This is a Japanese area now known as Hokkaido. It was said to be outside of the rule of Japan in 1603. The studio has not revealed much about the story except that it will be an origin story for Atsu.
