Somehow I didn't die either, which is impressive considering how any single stray bullet causes you to die when playing in hard difficulty on GRAW. I'll credit my survival to the spray and pray nature of the MG I was using and the fact that the last level isn't all that difficult either.
Regardless, GRAW remains to be one of the best tactical shooters of this generation, which is rather tragic because it was one the earliest I can recall of as well. It does what the recent Future Soldier does not by having realistic, heavy controls (akin to Killzone 2), an incredibly versatile squad control dynamic and a healthy amount of challenge that demands the player to think more on their feet and make more careful decisions before enterting combat.
So yeah, I'm happy I took the opportunity to play it again when I did.
