In this video, Ghouls and Ghosts, released in 1989 for the Atari ST by U.S.Gold.
The sequel of iconic game Ghosts and Goblins lands on the atari ST and once again we find ourselves starting in the graveyard, but this time we don't have a damsel to save, this time our damsel have been killed and we must avenge her.
This conversion for me has mixed feelings: from one side I see a good looking playable game similar to the original; from the other side I see how the 8 bit console conversions have been made and they look and play much better that this one. It's the same feeling I have when I play a U.S.Gold game: it could have been much better.
So graphically it looks like a much simplified version the original, the scrolling is good, the musics are super thanks to Tim Follin skills, the playability is ok, a bit frustrating like the original but ok.
Here you'll find the gameplay of part of the first level. I don't know why they didn't also convert the intro.

Fun Fact: The conversion of the sequel Ghouls and Ghosts has been released before the conversion of Ghost and Goblins.

All footage taken from original hardware machines and upscaled to 1080P.

Let me know what do you think about in the comments below but, most important, Enjoy!!!
