with update 1.10 we've got an update to the star-catching ability
now when you reach ability level 4, you have a small chance everyday to get a giant meteorite. these show up always in the entrance of your island
you will get a notification on the corner of your screen, telling you that a giant meteorite will appear at night. so you may need to change the time to see it.
you can go up to the star and harvest it!
all your friends can visit your island and harvest it as well, after you did first
so if you've played animal crossing new horizons its quite literally the same: you can everyday visit your friends to look out for stars. and you can also level up your own star catching ability to levle 4 and have a chance of finding it in your own island.
you do not need the star catching ability levelled up nor enabled, you can simply walk to the meteorite and interact with it.
with the giant meteorites you can craft a new gift type, which are paintings and screens with pictures of the eight great stylists. they also come up with really cool descriptions but i'll be making a lore video about it tomorrow!
