Synopsis
Xie Lian attempts to jump into the Sinners’ Pit after San Lang but is stopped by Kemo. Using Ruoye, he tries to pull Kemo down with him, amidst the struggle, someone above the pit throws all the Banyue soldiers into the abyss, creating a distraction that allows Xie Lian to drag Kemo down. As he falls, he tries to climb back using Ruoye but is stopped by an invisible barrier. San Lang catches him mid-air, revealing a changed form with no heartbeat or breath. He refuses to let Xie Lian touch the dirty ground, confirming he is not human.
Kemo, attacks in rage but is easily overpowered by San Lang. After subduing Kemo with Ruoye, they interrogate him.
Kemo recounts the Grand Preceptor’s history. She was a half-Banyue, half-Yong’an girl abandoned by her father and orphaned after her mother’s death. Bullied for her delicate nature, she disappeared during a war and returned with dark abilities, controlling Scorpion Snakes. Though distrusted, she earned Kemo’s support by saving soldiers and burying the dead, eventually becoming the Grand Preceptor. However, when the Yong’an army attacked, she betrayed Banyue by opening the city gates, leading to a massacre.
Overcome with anger and betrayal, Kemo screams that she deserves to be hanged over the pit. As Xie Lian tries to calm him, San Lang silences him. At that moment, the girl they were discussing jumps into the pit.
