Gladiator: Sword of Vengeance - PS2 (2003)
From developer Acclaim Studios Manchester, formerly Software Creations. A straight-forward, no frills hack n' slash. Combat is basic but satisfying, there's a lot of fun being a spinning top of blades swimming through enemies, and the pace picks up further in once you start getting perks. Narrated by Sean Pertwee, who I recognized as the voice of Colonel Hakha in Killzone, released a couple years after this game. You can't move the camera around freely, just zoom in and out, which makes for a neat cinematic feel as you move through corridors and past crowds. There are some really nice lighting effects going on too, the light and shadows look simply perfect passing over Invictus.
