Glitter Ball - My First dForce Strand Based Hair Test
I've been playing with the new Strand Based Hair editor in DAZ Studio 4.11 yesterday and had my Z-machines render this little animation. It's a sphere with Strand Based Hair applied. I've painted the sphere and added some hair, then switched on the Line Tesselation to create geometry. This enabled me to use dynamic dForce surface to it, and then I had spun the sphere 720 degrees.
The dForce rendering took a while for all those 120 frames, but then it's a very densely haired object. I left most values at their default for this first test. I've applied some of the default Iray shaders to the objects, cobalt to the sphere and copper to the "hair".
I'm not sure what's going on with the shadow, or why it disappears after about 60 frames, but I thought it looks funky enough to share either way.
Lots more to explore, as always :-)

YouTube appears to have had an issue with this file, there's a better resolution version available here: https://vimeo.com/342459086
