I felt like hitting up this script today. I played it once like a year ago and I remember it being fun so I thought "why not finish what I started".
Despair mode is clearly a notch up from Lunatic, but I'm amazed by how balanced it is. Usually whenever a game gets pushed "beyond lunatic" patterns get extremely silly and the game just becomes more about exploiting, abusing routes and resource management than about honest and intensive dodging. But this game was able to keep everything fun while still being a lot harder than what one would generally see on Lunatic of both fangames and maingames.
Sadly, I had some nasty FPS drops here and there. They were mostly during visualisations though so they didn't influence my gameplay most of the time. The only exception is the Kaleidoscope spell (5th spell) which got stuck at 35 FPS and might have become too easy because of it.
Most of my mistakes were mostly me just being stupid, though I did get overwhelmed a few times. Luckily I could make up for it at the end :) .
