A feature addition over conventional tiling where you don't need to put individual applications to separate workspace to maximise them. All windows whether maximised or not are queued in a scrolling tile. Conventional tiling has a limited space and opening multiple windows on the same workspace make them really small.
This is paperWM extension for GNOME. It is particularly helpful for people who want a full blown desktop environment and everything working out of the box but also a nice window tiling mechanism.
If you just want a bare bone scrollable tiling window manager, Niri is a god option.
