VIDEO DESCRIPTION
This is my PAIN+ guide for God of War 3: Remastered. The list below outlines the conditions of the run. For additional context, please recall the philosophy of PAIN: one completes the challenge using only those resources that were available to one at the beginning of the run.
GoW 3 PAIN+ CONDITIONS
(1) Chaos difficulty only.
(2) No red orb spending.
(3) No upgrading health, magic, or item meters.
(4) Blades of Exile only (except when other weapons are required for level progression).
(5) No opening health chests, magic chests, or white "combination" chests.
(6) No magic usage.
(7) No Rage of Sparta usage.
(8) No Godly Possessions.
(9) Enemy projectile attacks may not be parried.
(10) Gorgon's “stone gaze” may not be deflected to stone-shatter enemies; enemies petrified from gorgon decapitations cannot be stone-shattered by your hand (exception: harpies that fall to the ground and shatter).
(11) Icarus Wings can be used to glide in combat.
(12) Golden Fleece can be used in prologue to parry, but not to riposte.
(13) Bow of Apollo may not be used except to kill mandatory enemies that cannot be killed by any other means.
(14) Head of Helios may not be used to stun or damage enemies; however, it may be used to illuminate dark areas, expose blue-silhouetted sirens who have cloaked themselves, and to solve puzzles needed for level progression. Solar Flare may not used except if it is being used for illumination.
(15) Boots of Hermes may not be used to damage or launch enemies. Using the boots to perform the Hermesʼ dash, which allows for horizontal air evading, is a gray area. The dash does not damage enemies, but it does provide a versatility of movement that can be looked on as an advantage that one perhaps ought not to have on a PAIN+ run. So I have decided that the dash can be used on the Skorpius boss fight only. The Skorpius fight is an anomoly in that one must use an alternate weapon which compromises Kratos's movement. So in this instance, dashing is permissible, and if it is stated anywhere in the walkthrough that dashing is not so, then please disregard what was said in the walkthrough and use this list of conditions as the final word.
