Story


Brotherly Love
As the game begins, Goku, the triumphant hero of countless Dragon Ball Z brawls, brings his son, Gohan, on a special trip to visit some old friends. Just as the all the fun times and reminiscing begins, Raditz (Goku's evil brother, for those keeping score at home) crashes the party, sucker-punches Goku and kidnaps little Gohan. This leads to the first full-on fight of Story mode as Goku follows Raditz and challenges him to knuckle-up for a round of fisticuffs. This is also the first time you're introduced to the control scheme of the game:

Square: (P) Punch
Triangle: (K) Kick
Circle: (E) Ki Blast Wave
X: (G) Guard

Now that you know the controls, you're also given Goku's initial set of Super Moves:
1. Kamehameha: P, P, P, P, E (1 Ki Gauge used)
2. Zanku Fist: K, K, Forward+K, K, E (1 Ki Gauge used)

Raditz might be your brother, but he fights more like your sister. The quickest way to defeat your bad, bad brother is to juggle him in the air with a flurry of punches. Simultaneously press Back+P, then Back+P a second time to hit him with two straight backfists, then, as Raditz bounces up in the air, continue to hit P to juggle him for massive damage. Another good strategy is to dash at Raditz and press K to deliver a flying dropkick.

Once Raditz is defeated, you stand over him holding his tail. It's your chance to finish him, but, of course, you're the good guy in this game so you let him go. No sooner do you drop the tail, however, and your brother strikes you with a vicious elbow. That's what you get for being nice!

Like Father, Like Son
After Raditz knocks you down, he stands over you with his foot buried in your chest. Raditz laughs, talks a little smack, then out of nowhere Gohan flies to the rescue, striking Raditz with a devastating diving headbutt. Goku hops up and grabs Raditz from behind, setting him up for your buddy Piccolo to enter the fray and blast Raditz with his Beam Cannon. Only catch is, Raditz is fighting for his life and struggles down to his last breath to break free. Your mission is to hold him in place long enough for Piccolo to fire his Beam Cannon.
