Golden Axe Speedrun Strategies for 6-Pak
9Three small strategies that I have started using since switching to 6-pak rom.
Stage 2: An old strategy inspired by Beadle. I found that on 6-Pak it works best with the first downstab as early as possible. I use the wood planks at the top of the screen for reference to get the position correct.
Stage 3: Tweaked version of a strategy I have upload previously. Slightly faster as the last enemy you kill dies by pit death so you don't wait for the death animation. It's a bit random if the dragon suicides like this so more often it will charge you but you can downstab as it does to knock the rider into the pit on the right.
Stage 5: On 6-Pak the last pack of three enemies doesn't move the same way as the standard rom, and the triple downstab I have uploaded previously doesn't work. Instead you can just downstab the first enemy which baits the last two to bunch together for a fast jump attack into the pit. It's still slower than the triple downstab but it's the fastest strategy I can come up with for 6-Pak.
