Photo by Angie de Silva/Rappler MANILA, Philippines – Health Secretary Francisco Duque III believes the government’s campaign against illegal drugs, which has claimed the lives of at least 4,500 people, has been "very balanced" and "well coordinated." Duque gave the assessment in a news briefing on Wednesday, August 15, when asked about government efforts to rehabilitate arrested and surrendered drug users. The health chief said he based his assessment on the increase in the number of rehabilitation centers and drug users treated under the Duterte administration. "There’s never been something like this ever before. So I think it’s to the credit of the President that his approach has been very balanced and well-coordinated in terms of the execution of his anti-drug abuse program," Duque said in a briefing in Malacañang.
