[GPB] Why I mostly stopped riding GP Bikes after beta 19b...
This is the Steam version 20c (or at least it should be, since I think I did the most recent update), but for all intents and purposes it feels like beta 19b (not just 19 which still had the old FFB code!) when it comes to riding with directsteer=2 (or DS2 for short).
I wouldn't say it's impossible to use DS2 with the new versions, but I'm getting way too busy keeping the bike upright and rectifying its tendency to go wide.
With my Logitech G27 the new FFB is almost nonexistent and I'm even doing better after dialing it *down* and using the static onboard camera instead of the dynamic helmet cam I exclusively used with pre-19b.
It's a real pity things went this way, because I love not having to deal with the table and the wheel shattering spikes of the old FFB code and how the rider and bike movements look more natural on the trackside cams.
However, this new FFB neither prevents overcorrecting the handlebars, nor helps with catching the bike lean going too far... There is still a chance I could get used to riding like this, but it takes a LONG while, whereas with the old FFB it was more of a "get on the bike and drive away" kind of affair.
