Can GPT-4 Beat ChatGPT (GPT-3.5) at Chess? Today, we'll answer that very question.

GPT-4 definitely knows the rules of chess better than GPT-3.5, however, it still isn't very good, and it still really doesn't know what it's doing. Language models have a long ways to go before they are able to play a full game of chess with no sweat.

I'm probably going to do a GPT-4 vs GPT-4 game. It'll be much more interesting, and pieces won't come flying in and out and going to random squares as much.

Legal moves are much more prevalent with GPT-4, from my experimentation.
