6To celebrate the milestone of uploading more than 100 1cc videos, I shall be uploading this run as my 101st 1cc video.
The main premise of the game is all about checkpoints and dealing with the increasing rank on this version.
While it's still one of the early titles ever released by Konami back then, it would be a bit hard to get used to the powerup system until you know what powerups you need to use first.
Then you have also a rank system that's quite abrupt in this release, where enemies fire more bullets than usual the more you survive, which will become a thing until Gradius IV.
The most troublesome for this game had to be the fourth, which has a ton of enemies firing bullets at almost no end in sight, and the seventh stage, which the first half of it is quite the worst and can become a run-ender.
But still, this one holds it's rightful place as one of the most important shmups ever released, along with great titles like DonPachi series, Toaplan shmups, which are a lot to mention.
