1) Yes, I'm using autofire, but I'm using it just to be more concentrated on the game and less on my thumbs. I think that there isn't a big difference concerning the gameplay with or without its little help.

2) Yes, those levels after world 1 and 2 (Those faces turning on the screen here and there) are warp zones. You can activate them by destroying a certain amount of spaceships or enemies in general, I think.
