Gran Turismo 1 - Playthrough Part 6 - Sunday Cup and Lightweight Cup
Gran Turismo 7 might be coming out at the end of the year with the release of the PS5, so I want to try to do a full playthrough of all the previous Gran Turismo games until then. Here you can see me completing the Sunday Cup and the Lightweight Cup in the simulation mode of Gran Turismo 1.

Gran Turismo has always been one of my favorite racing game franchises and I played the first 3 games of the series when they first came out. After that I moved to PC though, so I never got to play GT 4-6. This year I want to try to revisit GT 1-3 and also play through GT 4-6 for the first time. I am not sure if I will manage to get all of it done but I will see how far I can get.
In this video I am doing my first few championships in the simulation mode with the Sunday Cup and the Lightweight Cup.
I could have used the Concept Car for the Sunday Cup after getting it for my gold medals in the B license but this would have been pretty overpowered, so I just bought a used car like most people would.
The strongest used cars for under 10k are probably the old Supra and RX-7, or maybe a Civic, Silvia or R32. I went for something unusual for a change though with the iconic Toyota Corolla AE86, which is a popular car in general but probably not super often picked as a starter car in this game.
The Sunday Cup can be done with this car stock and the Lightweight Cup is possible with a few upgrades. The Lightweight Cup is still quite a challenge like that though. This led to some very close races, which should be interesting for the video. :)
The reward car the the Sunday Cup is always the same but in the Lightweight Cup there are two possible cars in various colors. I ended up getting the pink version of the Civic Racer here, which I might showcase in the FF Cup.
In the next video I will do the remaining B license championships with the FF Cup, FR Cup and 4WD Cup.
