Great Baseball is a simple and straightforward baseball game that excels at delivering everything you'd expect from a baseball game of its time. I enjoyed it during its release, and looking back, I still find it more playable and enjoyable than initial opinions suggested.
What's interesting about this title is that it offers two different game modes, Game 1 and Game 2. One might assume Game 1 is the easier option, and Game 2 is the more challenging one, similar to NES Game A and Game B conventions. However, it's not the case here.
In this mode, your opponent is more focused on their defense - making it tougher to score points - but struggles in attacking. In Game 2, it's the exact opposite. You'll find it easier to score points, but you'll have a tougher time preventing your opponents from making runs.
I won't spoil the specific details of either match, but it's safe to say that the second one is far more eventful.
