This is the standard thule locking system. It prevents people from taking the crossbars off your vehicle. It installs very easily onto your crossbars, you just need to pop the plastic screws out and put the locking ones in. You will need to buy as many as you need in one box so you don't have a bunch of different thule keys. Make sure you mark your keys if you already have separate keys for attachments on the top. If you lose the keys you can order more keys from thule, you need to save the numbers on the keys.
