Green Hell VR is one of my most highly anticipated new VR game releases of 2022 and the developers were kind enough to let me go hands on with an early build of the game, to be more specific this Green Hell VR gameplay is from a DEMO that is meant to be released to the public as part of the upcoming Steam Next Fest... however I'm sad to say that at this moment in time the Green Hell VR PC version needs a huge amount more optimisation before I can comfortably recommend it to anyone. I've played through the Green Hell VR demo twice now, once with my Quest 2 and again with my Rift S, and I've loaded it up countless times to try and increase performance but as you'll see in today's video the demo in its current state is extremely GPU/CPU hungry and it was a genuine struggle to capture on my PC. Green Hell VR is probably fairly high up on most players most wanted lists when it comes to the new VR games 2022 has to offer & I can only hope the finished product (and Green Hell VR Quest 2 version) are much more polished when they finally see the light of day...

It's definitely worth noting again that this is a work in progress Green Hell VR build that can still be improved upon, it's by no means final but does paint a picture of how far away we could be from release. In it's current state I imagine the majority of VR users would have a subpar experience and struggle to squeeze out any sort of enjoyable/comfortable performance. The Green Hell VR Quest 2 version remains a mystery and I'm hoping to go hands on with this soon, I do have a theory regarding the Quest 2 version being prioritised over the PC VR version but we'll have to wait and see if that's the case. If you're looking for a VR survival game the whet your appetite in the mean time then Song in the Smoke or The Forest are still the best in class, here's hoping Green Hell VR can compete when launch day rolls around.
