I just got back from the midnight showing of Green Lantern and this is my video review of the movies.

The Movies had some strong points but also had its issues, which I can clearly see lead to the terrible early reviews. I can tell you simply its and entertaining movies, with script & editing problems.

The Good

Ryan Reynolds as Hal Jordan (Fantastic)
Mark Strong as Sinestro (Great Casting Choice)
Special Effects
voice acting of Jeffery Rush and Michael Clarke Duncan
Action Sequences

Bad

The Script
the editing,
the middle of the film slowed down

Blake lively was good, nothing stellar but did look good on screen, her chemistry with Ryan Reynolds worked. Peter Sarsgaard as Hector Hammond, was interesting, his character didn't have any purpose but he did bring it to life; again another issue with the script. I felt they cut out a lot of things that were important in the pacing of the movie the movie more, like the training in OA with Kilowog which was awesome, it looked like something that jumped out of the comic books. The effects looked very good, though with a little CGish looking shots here and there but really nothing to complain about

The are moments in the movies, that's how the true nature of the character and subject material and get you really excited and other that make you wonder, how much was cut out from the original script. Also Martin Campbell's editing does help either. Lucky Ryan Reynolds holds his own and makes you believe in the character. The movie is closer to its comic book roots than say you X-men franchise

In all is Green Lantern a bad movie? Nope

Is it a Great Movie? No

What it is, is an entertaining movie stunted by a script and editing sequence from a director that had passion for certain parts of the story and not the whole thing.

I hope the movie does well enough to warrant a sequel. That real show more of what a Green Lantern is all about and gives me more constructs to look at.

Also stay through the credits for a nice little Easter egg
