1. What is this game?
Griftlands is a roguelite deck-building indie game and is currently in early access.
2. What's the gameplay?
Deck-building involves two types of situations: Negotiation & Battle. Negotiation is when you make decision/choices to lie to achieve objective, to convince someone to join you, to get more money (shills) for hiring, or to avoid a fight. Battle is turn-based and one party/side has up to 4 members. Cards can be upgraded with XP that grant you more abilities/effects or attacks or defenses.
3. What's unique about the game?
Interaction with characters in the game is where making crucial decision matters. Making someone like you and then love you grant you a BOON that improves either your negotiation or battle proficiency or your HP. On the other hand, making someone dislike you and then hate you grant you permanent debuff.
Another unique is PANIC threshold. For example, enemy have total 50 HP and their panic threshold is 40. Once they are hit with 40 damage, they get panicked and surrendered themselves. In this case, you can choose to execute them (which makes other characters related to him hate you) or free them (which make them like you for certain character)
4. How's the music in this game?
Much video game music helps you focus and not to be too distracting so that fits easy to sleep quite well as well as sets the mood great.
5. What's the story of the game?
Sal is a bounty hunter hunting for Kashio for revenge while Rook is an aging spy who has his own agenda to deal with.
6. What's my Verdict?
Super fun. It’s not the usual roguelite deck-building game. It has a lot of replayability value as there are random events happening in each run and each choice you make will result in different outcome for each different characters interacted. Fantastic game, highly recommended!
