What's the game about?
Desperados III is a real-time tactics stealth video game. The game features five playable characters, with each having access to unique weapons and abilities. You are John Cooper, the antagonist of the game, who must venture in his quest to avenge his father's death. He is joined by Doc McCoy, Hector, Kate O'Hara and Isabelle.
What's unique about the game?
1. Showdown Mode allows player to pause time to use different abilities at a specific time and place desired by the player to achieve a desirable outcome in one single shot.
2. Players can play the game as a stealth game, in which they can assassinate enemies silently, disguise kills as accidental deaths, knock enemies unconscious or skip past them.
What's the perspective of the game?
The game is viewed through a top-down perspective or a bird's eye view much like any other classic RPG or tactical game. This perspective helps players to look the overall picture and the surrounding in order to make better tactical decision in progressing the story.
How's the difficulty of the game?
It is mentally challenging for players, requiring every focus and attention to details, such as enemy's viewcone (sight) and the walking pattern. The game encourages you to quicksave and quickload as one single mistake can foil your plan to assassinate stealthily. If you wanna gun blazing into every mission, your characters may not be able to sustain too much hits.
How long is this game?
The game consists of 3 chapters, the 1st two chapters having 6 missions while the last chapter having 4 missions. I've played the game in normal difficulty and completed the game in 30 hours or 1 week. Based on Google search of the game's runtime, it's more or less 25 - 30 hours.
Final takeaway?
The game has no crafting system and the only loot the game has is the characters' ammunition in the chest scattered around the map.
