From a Normal/Classic run as an experiment to see if a Roy (DLC) "solo" with Chrom pair up support was viable for a Smashboards user, MrGame&Rock.
It was easy from the get-go. I basically unequipped female Robin (made and named her Red Robin to honor Etika), paired her up with Chrom to gain support ranks and make her Lucina's mother even though this was completely unecessary, had Chrom clear maps alone from the prologue to 4 or so for all the EXP he could get, then fed Roy a few renown boosters and let loose with Chrom helping him for the rest of the game. I habitually recruited everyone, though the run would have been even easier if I didn't. The run took like an hour lol and would have taken less if I didn't go through unecessary hoops.
I grabbed Bonus Box Roy at the final chapter just to ORKO Grima. It was one of my few workarounds to avoid Chrom getting attacked, since I wasn't too strict on the run's rules and just wanted Roy to conquer everything.
