Grzegorz Kwiatek (Greg) - "Misunderstanding" [IMPROVED!] -- Chiptune Visualization / Atari SAP
*** PLEASE, WATCH IN HIGH QUALITY FOR PROPER AUDIO! ***
So, I decided to take a look at all the separate channels of some chiptune music at once. Thought it might look cool, since those waveforms are usually so pretty. I quickly put together a script to create this video.
For the music, I picked Greg's "Misunderstanding", probably my favorite chiptune. It's just so unlike anything else out there!
We see here 8 channels. Each channel has a pan value (left or right), and I organized them accordingly. I also paired similar channels side-by-side. Greg used small offsets between them to create some really interesting effects. Just pay attention to it and enjoy!
This new version is using the same "timbre capture" method from the most recent videos. I figured I should upload this one again, since everything looks so much better this way.
NOTE: The second part of this track is exactly like the first part, but at 1/4 of the speed. This seems to have been a mistake, as new version of this track in the ASMA end at the first part, so I assume someone fixed it. This is due to the tempo of the track changing when it loops, but apparently it shouldn't loop? I'm not sure.
However, I still think the bugged track is superior and unique. True to the song's title, this was all a "Misunderstanding", but damn how I love the fact that it happened.
