GTA 3 - Original PC Version 2023 with Silent Patch and Widescreen Fix

Since I installed GTA IV, I felt like I should see what I can do with the rest of them, so I downloaded GTA III / GTA 3 via Steam (as well as GTA Vice City and GTA San Andreas, because WHY NOT). The total file size was a little over 1 gig, so the actual download literally took a minute.

I did a quick google search for "GTA HD Mods" and found a whole bunch of them, but instead opted to go "subtle" (to begin with at least) and just install the Silent Patch and the Widescreen Fix and see how that played out.

There was a real visual improvement with these, the menu, thanks to the Widescreen "Frontend" patch is crystal clear, and the Silent Patch just updates the game to be more "current" and irons out some apparent control issues.

I'm going to play with the settings a bit and see if I can make it even nicer - i think I'm going to disable "Trails" the next time I play it- that may cut down on the "wash-y" look that shows up from time to time.

I'll try other mods - seeing as how it literally took 1 minute to download the game via Steam, I'm not concerned that I might screw up the install lol - I can just delete it and re-download.
