GTA San Andreas Treasure Hunt - Anyone Can Play - PC Mod - Find Horseshoes, Snapshots, Oysters
This is a Treasure Hunt for those who are interested in trying something new. Anyone can play.
This was my first attempt at modding San Andreas. I made the mod in December, 2007.
I didn't do very much, the only things that have been changed are the locations of all the collectables: Snapshots, Oysters, and Horseshoes, none are in the usual locations.
Gang Tags are still the same, since I don't know how to change their locations.
I tried to keep true to the original spirit of the game, so here's what I did:
1) All Horseshoes are located in areas that are in and around the gambling community.
2) All Oysters are located in water somehow.
3) All Snapshots are of eye-catching items and scenery, and they're scattered throughout the game in locked areas (meaning areas that trigger 4-Stars at the beginning of the game), not just San Fierro.
The game starts on the Thursday after Tenpenny and Pulaski dump Carl into the alley, exactly 24 hours after that occurred. Basically, the only thing that has been done is the purchase the Jefferson Safe house.
Please keep in mind that this is a modified game, so a glitch may occur, but so far everything for me has been running very smoothly.
It can be played as a regular game.
I will eventually list the locations of the pickup items that are in this game.
I will send the locations of the hidden items to those who are interested in knowing where they are located, just leave a comment or a video response.
If you want to see the locations for yourself, you can use the San Andreas Place Manager to see teleport to the actual locations.
The San Andreas Place Manager can be downloaded here http://www.thegtaplace.com/downloads/f516-san-andreas-place-manager
or here http://www.gtagarage.com/mods/show.php?id=26
You will need to download the following files and install them in the same folder that you install the San Andreas Place Manager. These files contain the locations of the Oysters, Snapshots, and Horseshoes (replacing the existing files).

All comments and suggestions are welcome.
I created this mod in December, 2007. Here's the orignal topic for it at GTA Forums: http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtopic=302854&view=findpost&p=1057315873

The Treasure Hunt saved game can be downloaded here (The saved game is already modified, so you don't need to modify your game): http://gtasnp.com/download/31008
This is for PC users only... you can load it up and play it on your PC.
Do you have v2.0?
Here's a link for people with v2.0 to play v1.0 saved-games (made by Ryan): http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtopic=294446&view=findpost&p=4530936

Here's the map that shows the zones where you can trigger a 4-Star Wanted Level: http://oi49.tinypic.com/2pr780p.jpg
Notice that Bayside Marina is not included in any zone.
Also keep in mind that as long as CJ is in the water (swimming, floating, etc) he can't get a Wanted Level at all unless he touches the ground or gets onto or into a vehicle; that excludes the area marked off on that map at the Easter Basin Navel Station in San Fierro.
(thanks to P.D.Escobar for the map)
Recorded using Fraps with a GTX 280 video card.
NO CHEATS were used.
