GTA V Special Vehicle Guide: Lustered/EC2 Grey Rusty Rebel
0In this Video, I show how to obtain the Lustered/EC2 Grey Rusty Rebel from "Mr. Philips." After I obtain it, I reload the Save and show that it's still there.
Unlike IV, TLaD, and TBoGT, Lusters behave MUCH differently in V. You can NOT just reload your Save and try again for a different Luster. Instead, and in regards to this Rusty Rebel, after arriving at the Biker Camp, you must continuously fail the Mission by exploding Ron or leaving the Biker Camp, and then hit Retry and when you do this, the Luster on the Rebel changes. Rinse and repeat until it spawns with the Special Lusters.
This is one of the most tedious Special Vehicles to obtain in GTA V and takes an hour or two to obtain. Once you reach the Biker Camp, you will notice this Rusty Rebel when the Enemy uses it for driving past you. Do the Luster Change Trick explained above until it gets a Special Luster. After that, let this Rebel drive past you, but do NOT kill the Driver before he gets out (since Vehicles can't be saved with Dead Bodies inside). Kill all the Bikers, return to the Bodhi, and prepare yourself for the long Pushing. Pushing in GTA V is the worst in the entire Series.
This Rusty Rebel is Unjackable, so you have to push it back to the Safehouse. Hang around the Biker Camp as long as the Duneloader spawns by the Exit, since it can help push the Rebel as it can take a lot of Damage and can save the Bodhi for the later replacement pushing Vehicle. DON'T WORRY if the Rebel dies out, it's supposed to happen!! When you see Engine Flames, let them burn away before continuing the Pushing task, and the Rebel will never explode! Keep double driving the Duneloader and Bodhi (while pushing the Rusty Rebel) to Ortega's Trailer, and once the Duneloader dies, continue the task with the Bodhi. Push the Rebel as close to the Trailer as possible until the Cutscene is triggered, but DON'T park the Rebel onto the Path between the Trailer and River!!!
After you kill Ortega, the Rusty Rebel will still be there, now simply use the Bodhi to continue pushing this piece of wreck back to the Harmony Truck Stop. Watch out for Road Barriers and approach the Truck Stop from the East Side. If it's Night Time, you need to wait, if it's Day Time, a Packer or Phantom will spawn (don't use the Hauler and don't damage the Bodhi when you find a Truck). Now, exactly like with the Duneloader, double-drive-push the Rebel near Trevor's Trailer. Keep your Camera on the Rebel and the Truck at all costs!! Don't rush, and if the Truck disappears use Traffic Vehicles.
Once finally at Trevor's Trailer, don't push it against the Garage Door, instead, find some high Vehicle (like the Injection) on the Street and put it under the Garage Door as a Door Holder, once successful, use the Truck to push both the Rebel and the other Vehicle inside Trevor's Garage. After that, pass the Mission, and drive far away, and come back to save the Lustered/EC2 Rusty Rebel!

Special Lusters: Utility Medium Brown, Utility Silver, and Worn Silver Grey
Lusters That Are NOT Special: Metallic Green, Metallic Black, and Metallic Orange

Once again unlike IV, TLaD, and TBoGT, MOST Lusters are NOT going to be special in V. So that means if this Rusty Rebel would interest you, you'd want to surely get one of the three ONLY SPECIAL Lusters that can spawn on this Rusty Rebel. However, to know the exact Luster, you would have to boot your Save up in a Save Editor to check the Colors you get to know if it's truly special or not in terms of the Luster!
A Luster is a Color in which overlaps the Base Color and can be seen when I move the camera angle around in sunlight. Some Lusters are better seen at night while some are better seen in daylight and there is even some Lusters, depending on the Base Color of the Vehicle, that are very faint and you'll hardly be able to see them.
