Khazan was once a barbarian but defied prejudice to rise through the ranks and become the revered general of the Pell Los Empire on the continent of Arad. Despite facing discrimination due to his origins, his unparalleled strength, skill, and tactical brilliance earned him the title of hero. When the peace of the empire was shattered by the arrival of Hismar, a fearsome dragon, Khazan and the renowned mage Ozma rose to the challenge. Together, they defeated Hismar and restored peace, earning the adoration of the people.
During post-war recovery, Khazan learned of a border conflict and set out to intervene. However, realizing that the incident was merely a minor skirmish and the war itself unjustified, he decided to pull his troops back. He sent his subordinate, Tristan, to the palace to secure the necessary retreat orders. Unfortunately, due to a cunning scheme by the emperor, Tristan returned with forged commands. This led to Khazan being accused of unauthorized military action, branded a traitor, and sentenced to have the tendons in both arms severed.
As Khazan was being transported to an exile site in the Stru Mountains, fate itself intervened. A massive avalanche struck the convoy, hurling Khazan's carriage off a cliff. What unfolds next marks the beginning of the player's journey, one of survival, vengeance, and the revelation of Khazan's destiny.
