This guide helps you to better understand how the Machine Weapons are upgraded in Final Fantasy XV.

They're not necessarily the strongest weapons in the game, but if you like everything upgraded and want it done as quick as possible, you'll appreciate this.

In case the video isn't entirely clear, how it works is once you have the items necessary for upgrading any of the "Machine Weapons", you take them to Cid who will tell you to "come back when they're ready".

A lot of people thought it was handled through in-game time and many guides I found wrongfully said to "Sleep for five days" or something along those lines.

As it turns out, the time it takes Cid to upgrade a weapon relies more on "Quests Completed". And it's fortunate that replaying old hunts counts towards the total.

So if you're at Hammerhead (where Cid usually is) you can accept the most basic hunt "Howling Wind of Hunger" 2-3 times depending on the level of upgrade, rest at the nearby campsite or trailer and without fail Cid will call to tell you about the upgrade.

An added bonus to this method beyond how fast it is, is that if you warpstrike every enemy you fight you'll also gain AP.
And occasionally Gladiolus will find rare items such as debased or rare coins.

Hope it helps!
