Guide for the Lost is my newest musical brain child which I fully intend on working on until it is a live performing band.

I have named this album "The End of Oblivion" because that was the name of the previous band I had written a lot of music for, but unfortunately, and not because of anyones fault, the band never took off. After observing the guy I had recruited as a singer did not have interest in working with, or recording on any of my material as of today I am officially declaring that band Oblivion as disbanded.

My main inspiration for the music of Guide for the Lost is Katatonia and Harakiri for the Sky, which are my two most favorite bands. I think it will be easier to detect the Katatonia influence in these songs that it is to detect the Harakiri For the Sky influence, but as I continue working on improving these four songs with live guitars and drums my hope is that their influence becomes more detectable.

I will post a lot about my workflow and ideas and songwriting philosophies on my instagram music blog which is can be found, if you're interested, at miggyfr2. All of these songs were written during the year 2020, at the high of the pandemic lockdown, I then pre-produced all of the songs using a variety of tools and only ended combining all of them in 2024 using GarageBand.

I released this production on leap day Feb 29 2024 with a promise that I will release a new album every following leap year, so every 4 years.
