Trebuchets hit like a truck filled with pain. Also looking now i realize it is possible to dodge using the golem. It gives you a boost of speed in that direction and allows you to evade damage.

I got the golem through collecting enough badges. I got 32 from the jump puzzle and the rest from kills.
